Hi, I’m Dr Ibrahim — Helping Doctors Thrive in the NHS

  • About Me

I created this platform to make life simpler for doctors navigating the NHS — especially International Medical Graduates and junior doctors starting their careers.

When I first began working in the NHS, I quickly realised how confusing the system can feel.

Training pathways, exams, portfolios, referrals, audits, applications…
There’s a lot to learn — and very little is explained clearly.

Most of us figure things out through trial and error.

I built this website to create the resource I wish I had when I started — practical guidance, real-world advice, and straightforward explanations that actually help on the ward and during training.

    My Clinical Journey

I am now in my fifth year working in the NHS and currently practice as an IMT3 Medical Registrar.

Over the years, I’ve rotated through multiple hospitals and specialties, gaining broad experience in acute and general medicine. Working across different teams and environments has helped me understand the everyday challenges junior doctors face — especially during on-calls and busy ward shifts.

While I enjoy all aspects of internal medicine, I have a strong interest in Gastroenterology and plan to pursue higher specialty training in this field.

    Teaching & Education

Teaching has always been a big part of my career.

I started teaching more than 10 years ago and have since worked with:

    • Medical students

    • Junior doctors

    • International graduates

    • Online learners worldwide

I run online courses, create educational content, and share practical clinical knowledge through my YouTube channel with over 42,000 subscribers, supporting doctors across the globe.

I’m also involved in formal teaching as a visiting lecturer at the University of Leeds and contribute to local gastroenterology teaching projects at Pinderfields General Hospital.

If you’ve ever worked with me on shift, you’ll probably notice one thing quickly — I genuinely enjoy teaching and explaining things clearly.

    Quality Improvement & Research

Alongside clinical work and teaching, I’ve been actively involved in:

    • Quality improvement projects

    • Clinical audits

    • Gastroenterology research

    • Service development initiatives

Improving systems and patient care is something I care deeply about, not just individual cases.

    Why This Website Exists

    This platform brings everything together.

    Here you’ll find:

    • Practical ward guides

    • On-call survival tips

    • Gastroenterology teaching

    • NHS career pathways

    • Exam and portfolio advice

    • Real-life lessons from experience

Not textbook theory — but what actually helps when you’re on the ward at 2am.

    Because medicine is hard enough.
    Understanding the system shouldn’t be.

    Let’s Learn Together

If this site helps make your NHS journey a little clearer or your on-call shifts a little easier, then it’s doing exactly what it was built for.

Welcome — and I hope you find it useful.
